Business English
The Business English course follows a coursebook in the morning which introduces and practices all aspects of the English language. Each day will have an afternoon session on the following skills:
Speaking and Listening
This will be a chance to practice these listening skills and communicate in certain business situations using listening and speaking skills to complete special activities.
Business reading and writing
This will be reading and writing activities using Business English situations and the student will be used to business articles and how to write business correspondences.
Business activities
This session will involve using communication skills to organize and work together to complete business tasks in the classroom. This is a fun section where you and your fellow students will team together and solve different business problems using your English skills.
Business project
As a business student you will be placed in a local business and asked to complete a project regarding that business. You will be working in the local business you have been assigned to and marks will be given for involvement, written work and feedback from the local people in the business. If you are applying for this course, pleased state what type of business you would like to be involved in.
Business vocabulary and conversation
This is introducing business vocabulary and practicing it in conversation, when to use the vocabulary and practicing all other grammar skills learnt in that week.
Each afternoon session takes two hours and is a great way of practicing the skills learnt during the week.
From 4-5pm there is an optional tutorial where students can stay behind and ask the teacher any questions or discuss any difficulties they have encountered.
Each term lasts two calendar months and the student will be assessed throughout the two months with a test on the second last day of the term.
The student will be marked on afternoon work and the test to determine if they can be promoted to the next level. The pass rate is 70% and this needs to be obtained in all subjects and the test to be promoted.
The student will graduate if the decide to stay on and pass the advanced class.
